CHERRY HILL, NJ — During the spring of 2025, the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association held its annual organizational elections.

Three seats on the PSWA Board of Governors were open with Aaron Bracy, Charlie O’Connor and John Weber getting chosen by their peers to the three open posts on the board, replacing Jeff Asch, Sam Carchidi and Mike Kern, whose three-year terms had expired on June 1, 2025. Bracy runs the website Big 5 Hoops, freelances for the Associated Press, Sports, and authored the recently released book A Soaring Season: The story of the 2003-04 St. Joseph’s men’s basketball team. O’Connor is the Flyers beat writer for PHLY.com, an All-City Network site. And Weber is the Vice President of Network Programming for Premiere Radio Network. Mike Luongo, whose two-year PSWA presidential term also expired on June 1, 2025, joins the board, replacing past president (2019-21) Jon Marks.

The newly elected Bracy, O’Connor and Weber will have three-year terms and join the following members on the PSWA Board of Governors: Mike DeNardo, Mel Greenberg, Chris Murray, and Rich Pagano. There is one vacancy on the Board of Governors for another presidential appointee.

Marie Wozniak, Associate Athletic Director for Communications at Rowan University, remains in place as the ticket chair of our annual PSWA Banquet.

Also, up for election in the spring of 2025 were the positions of secretary and treasurer. Each position carries a two-year term. Terry Small, the commissioner of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, was elected to the post of secretary while KYW retiree and an adjunct professor at multiple local colleges, Larry Litwin, was elected to the post of treasurer.

Dave Uram, sports reporter at KYW NewsRadio in Philadelphia, was elected as the President Elect in 2025, which means he will take over as PSWA President, succeeding Shute, in 2027. The role of vice president is currently vacant but will be filled soon by the PSWA’s Board of Directors.

Glenn Papazian was elected to the role of Vice President in the organization in 2025. He is the owner and lead writer for PhillyCollegeSports.com.

Mike Shute, a multi-media sports freelancer, took over the position of PSWA President in 2025, succeeding Luongo. Shute’s term ends in the summer of 2027. He was chosen as the organization’s President Elect at the PSWA’s 2023 elections and spent the ensuing two years in that role in preparation to assume the post of president.
