The Philadelphia Sports Writers Association will hold its 119th Awards Banquet at the DoubleTree by Hilton (formerly Crowne Plaza) on Route 70 in Cherry Hill, NJ, on January 17, 2024.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for a cocktail hour with dinner beginning promptly at 6 p.m.

Since 1904, we’ve honored extraordinary athleticism, local philanthropy by area sports personalities, legendary achievements, and unimaginable courage at our long-standing event, the oldest of its kind in the country.

Among the announced honorees thus far, Philly sports fans can expect to see the following: PSWA Team of the Year, Media Little League‘s squad that reached the Little League World Series this past summer; members of the Living Legend Team, the 1973-74 Philadelphia Flyers who will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their historic Stanley Cup season (Bernie Parent, Dave Schultz, Don Saleski, Bob Kelly, Orest Kindrachuk, Joe Watson and Jimmy Watson); PSWA Campbell Broadcasting Award recipients Tim Saunders and Steve Coates of Philadelphia Flyers radio fame. The Pro Athlete of the Year is IBF Welterweight boxing champion Jaron Ennis, a Philly native. The Philadelphia Sports Writers Association will be rolling out more names of our guests and honorees in the coming days and weeks leading up to the big night.

As usual, expect nothing less than the most interesting, most accomplished and most recognizable stars from the past year. Almost all with that very Philly link.

We look forward to spending a tremendous evening with you as we celebrate another memorable year in the greatest sports city in America.
