No matter how far his journey has taken him, Kevin Negandhi has never drifted from his Philadelphia roots. The Phoenixville native and proud Temple University graduate carries that unmistakable Philly spirit into every newsroom, classroom, and stadium he enters.

Even with a demanding schedule as one of ESPN’s most recognizable anchors, Negandhi always finds time to pour into the next generation—offering wisdom to Sports Media Relations students, returning to Temple for appearances, and sitting in the stands as a true fan of the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers. Since joining ESPN in 2006, he has become a trusted face on ABC’s college football studio show, the 6 p.m. SportsCenter, and women’s basketball coverage.

His career consistency, professionalism, and trailblazing path have earned him the distinguished Bill Campbell Award for Excellence in Broadcasting, presented by the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association. Negandhi will be formally honored on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at the 121st annual PSWA Banquet at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Cherry Hill, NJ. Tickets are available to the public by clicking here.

Throughout his time at ESPN, Negandhi has contributed to an Emmy-nominated SportsCenter and hosted a wide range of marquee programming, including NFL Live, Baseball Tonight, Outside the Lines, College Football Live, NBA Tonight, and the NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four. He has also brought global visibility to the Special Olympics World Games, serving as host since 2015, and has taken part in signature ESPN projects such as co-hosting Veterans Day specials. In 2015, he was recognized as the Team ESPN Disney Volunteer Commentator of the Year.

Before joining ESPN, Negandhi distinguished himself as sports director at WWSB-TV in Sarasota, Florida, earning three Associated Press awards: “Best Sportscast” in 2004 and 2005, and “Best Breaking Sports News” in 2005. He previously served as sports director for KTVO-TV in Kirksville, Missouri.

A proud inductee of Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication Hall of Fame, Negandhi began his career in 1995 as a college sports stringer for USA Today. Negandhi, the first Indian-American to serve as a national sports network anchor, graduated from Temple in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in communications—launching a career that continues to reflect excellence, integrity, and the heart of a true Philadelphian.
