PSWA Honorees Available to Media Before 119th Annual Dinner Wednesday Night January 17th
This year’s dinner SOLD OUT!
Many honorees will be available to the media from 5 pm to 6 pm in the VIP cocktail room prior to the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association’s 119th banquet on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
The event will be held at the Doubletree Hilton in Cherry Hill.
Phillies’ pitcher Aaron Nola and manager Rob Thomson, former Eagles Vince Papale and Jeremiah Trotter Sr., members of the 1974 Flyers, current Flyers center Sean Couturier, and Flyers Governor and Chairman/CEO of Comcast-Spectacor Dan Hilferty, are among those who will be available.
The highlight of every PSWA Dinner is the announcement of our Most Courageous Sportsperson of the Year. In 2024, the PSWA will recognize basketball coaching lifer Joe Mihalich on his will to press on despite suffering what could have been a fatal stroke back in 2020. The owner of more than 400 career wins as a Division I head coach, he has returned to the sidelines as a special assistant to head coach Fran Dunphy at his alma mater, LaSalle University. Mihalich will meet with the media preceding the dinner for a news conference in room 523 of the DoubleTree by Hilton Cherry Hill at 4:30PM.
